Most of the Vanavasi areas are outside the reach of doctors, nursing homes, or hospitals. Their own traditional treatments may not be effective in critical cases. There are hundreds of people who are not aware of their own illness. VKK is working towards the awareness creation among them about the health care facilities available today.
It collects and distributes medicines through volunteers for the common ailments. Health care camps are arranged at remote places through qualified doctors. The patients are advised to consult specialized doctors if needed; VKK arranges the necessary funds and support through public donors.
The volunteers are also creating awareness against liquor and effectively fighting the liquor lobby in some tribal areas.
